Crystal describes the artist’s experience as “a lifelong journey that requires joy in slow becomings, and a genuine hunger for mastery.” “I’m seeking to find that place where whimsy and life connect. I believe that is where an artist is both child and master, where art is both a celebration and a silence. This is where the artist has lost nothing in the life of a thing, but has instead given the subject new significance.” Colorado, Crystal has remained dedicated to her education and credits much of her progress to her studies with several renown artists including Casey Childs, Keith Bond, and Tina Garrett. She is heavily influenced by historical masters of the late 1800’s Naturalist movement including Pascal-Adolphe-Jean Dagnan-Bouveret, George Clausen, Edgar Maxence and Jamer Guthrie. Other favorites include American impressionist Mary Cassatt and William Adolphe Bouguereau. Crystal lives in Colorado with her husband, 5 sons, and sole female companion, a mischievous whippet named Indie. In the years since earning her BA in Visual Arts from the University of Northern

Laurie lives in the small western town of Pinedale, Wyoming and has been enjoying this place since the age of sixteen. She loves horses and riding the trails in the back country, and treasures her home in Wyoming, where inspiration is endless. Its wildlife and landscapes are food for her soul. In 2013, her family moved to Jackson Hole, where she joined the Teton Plein Air Painters on their weekly painting excursions. Oil is her medium of choice, and she likes to represent what she sees and feels in the moment. She looks for the beauty in natural sub jects, and she finds visual poetry in the combination of colors. Laurie is an associate member of OPA and WAOW, a member of the Teton Plein Air Painters, Art Assn of Jackson Hole, Sublette County Mixed Media, and a member & past president of WAA (Wyoming Artists’ Association).

When people ask me to name my favorite between cacti, succulents, aloe and agave, my heart is invariably with the agave. I am moved by the stateliness of the agave and the endless variations in size, colors, and shapes. I marvel at the undulation of the agave leaves and those leaves imprinted by the now unfurled leaf – like footsteps in sand. I am emotionally moved by the poignant swan song beauty of the agave flower. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I am also enamored with tropical and unusual flowers and plants. I never fully understood my fascination with xeric botanicals until I was in West Texas and drove through Presidio. Like a ton of bricks, it hit me - I grew up on the Texas/ Mexico border near the Chihuahua desert of Mexico. I was simply drawing my home. Home for the last 30 plus years has been in and around Austin, Texas. Currently, my studio is at my home in the Hill Country northwest of Austin near the Balcones Canyonlands Reserve. ”There is magic everywhere you look, if only you will open your senses to feel it...’ Words I am creatively inspired by, words I live by. Each painting created with layers of oils, sometimes 23k gold and sterling silver to bring reflective light beneath even more layers, all to ask the viewer to look a bit deeper to see beyond the obvious. This is the way I live my life, what I create in my paintings - a story that one can feel and create yet a new story of their own by what they see....” At 16, Elizabeth’s first oil paintings were commissioned as Quarter Horse and Appaloosa Horse High Point Award Ceremonies marking the end of each show year. Shortly thereafter, her works were accepted in Colorado Springs galleries as well as showcased and sold in new model homes. Elizabeth’s art is highly detailed, accurate and very moving. Living both in Arizona and Colorado gives her endless inspiration for her expressive artistic style.

Growing up in Albuquerque allowed Simone the unique opportunity to experience a rich culture and the wonder of an expansive landscape. She always loved nature, mountain biking and catching lizards in the Sandia foothills and camping all over the state. After getting a degree in Environmental Studies at Austin College in Texas, she moved back to New Mexico. Needing artistic fulfillment, she returned to work at Barbara Meikle Fine Art gallery to pursue a creative career doing graphic design, painting, photography, and helping people grow their art collections. Her personal talents for painting and drawing were renewed with an introduction to plein air painting. She is now based in Santa Fe and continues to explore northern New Mexico and the West. She hopes to inspire others to environmental appreciation and conservation through her studio and on-site oil paintings and is always on the lookout for the next inspirational vista.

Margi has a great love of nature, the environment and animals, especially those found close to home in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Margi Tucker is a native of Northwest Arkansas. After owning her own real estate business in Oklahoma for many years, she returned to Arkansas, ultimately retiring in Bella Vista. Her mother and three of her sisters are accomplished artists and she has been drawing or painting her entire life. In 2008, she attended a class in Bella Vista taught by renowned artist, Jack Hetterich, and her love of art took a new turn, pastel painting. Her dream in retirement was to paint, travel and fish with husband, Rick. Now, painting has become her obsession as she catches up for the years she was so committed to her career. Margi continues to take classes and workshops from many well known pastel artists. Margi is signature member of the Ozark Pastel Society where she has been an officer and served on the Board of Directors. In 2019 Margi was “Artist in Resident” at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock where she was given her own show and did a commissioned painting for the First Lady to hang in the mansion.
