NICOLE MONÉ THE UNVEILING—PORTRAIT OF MATTHEW INNIS AND FRANKIE

This is one in a series of paintings based on my friend Matthew’s and my long text thread. Our conversations begin with art but somehow always seem to get amusingly twisted. I consider myself fortunate to have such humor in my life. In The Unveiling (Portrait of Matthew Innis and Frankie) I’ve captured that exciting moment when models first see the wondrous way in which they’ve been depicted by the painter. When asked about his impression of the painting, my oft-used model, Matthew Innis raved, “I don’t know Nicole Moné and I’m beginning to fear for my safety.” Frankie was also thrilled!
