10” x 20” — Oil $2,000

The Cimmaron Mountain range carves a spectacular profile against the southwestern Colorado sky. The range is part of the greater San Juan Mountains. This painting was inspired by the view of the Cimmaron Ridge during a midsummer evening drive from Montrose to Ridgeway, not long before sunset. The late day light hitting the craggy peaks was spectacular and filled me with awe. I wanted to capture the emotion and drama of that moment!
