20” x 20” — Oil $1,600

Who can resist an old picket fence with flowers cascading over it? This backlit scene that I found in an older neighborhood just begged to be painted in the impressionist tradition of painting the effects of light on a subject. Let yourself feel the warmth of the afternoon sun on the flowers and the sidewalk patterned by shadows! My work is about the beauty of the paint just as much as it is about the subject. Vivid colors and bold textures are the hallmark features of my style. It is such a joy to slather on big swatches of juicy color with my palette knife.
