NANCY HARKINS RED LEGGINGS
This precious little girl in red leggings caught my attention at a Civil War reenactment. Her unruly hair and confident stride seem to express an adventurous spirit as she ponders life on the frontier. Of course, the comforts of home and family, evidenced by her warm clothing and lollipop, are the foundation for that spirit. Painting her in my favorite medium of watercolor helps to express more of that adventurous spirit since watercolor often has a mind of its own, as well!
