The inspiration for this piece was from photos I had taken at the Draft Horse Classic Show in Grass Valley, CA. I spotted this lovely Belgian just waiting to enter the arena. I couldn’t wait to paint this beautiful horse with such a kind eye. I love to capture the character of all the animals and people that I paint, and she definitely caught my eye.
