I’ve been studying nocturnal painting lately and found it difficult yet fascinating. I have loved some of the old illustration artists understanding of doing a night scene and I really studied their ideas. After working on quite a few paintings it finally felt like it was looking like the night. Western has always been a draw for me and combining them seemed to really work. At the last minute I decided to make him a sheriff and to have the moonlight glisten off his badge.
