53rd National Show Catalog, "No Place Like Home"

14” x 12” x 9” — Bronze $3,000

Having my morning coffee from my couch in the living room looking out the windows is always a treat, especially in the spring. Coyotes, javelina, bobcats, and birds of all kinds pass by. My favorite is the Gambel Quail. In the winter they seem to disappear, but when the weather warms and they are feeling amorous, the calls of a male in love can be heard. On this particular morning a handsome male quail landed on the neighbors flower pot sitting atop a pillar. His cute pose and his intentions are the inspiration for Sittin’ Pretty.
