This painting is a nostalgic memory for me. I really did have a swing on a big old tree when I was a child. I can still remember the coolness and the scent under that tree. My work is about the beauty of the paint just as much as it is about the subject. Vivid colors and bold textures are the features of my style. It is such a joy to slather on big swatches of juicy color with my palette knife.

She grew up in coastal southern California, lived in the northern California wine country for several years, and now lives in the Sonoran Desert south of Tucson AZ. She studied art at Rancho Santiago Community College in Santa Ana, CA; Scottsdale Artists’ School, and various workshops with professional artists. At one time she worked as an artist at Disneyland.
