KATHRYN McMAHON LILY POND AT THE BROADMOOR

When I lived in Colorado Springs, I sketched at the lily pond in front of the famous Broadmoor Hotel, and took many photos. I saw different reflected colors in the pond, and I liked the lion spouting water from the fountain in the distance. This is such a peaceful scene. I loved going there and sitting on the embankment with my artist friend. I decided it was time to paint another lily pond scene. Painting Lily Pond at the Broadmoor brings back memories. I love the colors, composition, and the children playing by the water. This is a unique place to relax and observe the scene in front of me.
