JOYE DeGOEDE PUPPY LOVE

16” x 20” — Oil $4,700

Puppy Love captured a tender moment with these two coyotes. I love seeing them on my hikes and around my home studio. I don’t paint subjects that I don’t know. I love to do lots of research before I start my paintings. There are so many stories to tell! Here are some fun facts about coyotes: they mate for life; coyotes show affection to each other with gentle nuzzles and snuggling; greetings usually occur around dusk. They include nose touches and lots of body contact, squealing and wiggles. The differences between coyotes and wolves are in their snout/muzzles, ears, size and tails. Coyotes have narrower features and longer snouts/muzzles than a wolf. A wolf’s ears are more rounded than the pointed ears of the coyote. Wolves have bushier and shorter tails. Coyotes are shorter, sleeker and lighter on their feet.
