CHRISTINE OBERS GIRL
My mother was brilliant in mathematics, but not allowed to take physics at school because she was a girl. With my mother’s encouragement, her younger brother pursued a career in physics, winning the Nobel Prize in 2019. Girls today can pursue exciting careers using their intelligence and creativity to bring about discoveries in ways unavailable in the past.
20” x 16” — Oil $2,200
I was biking in Utah this summer and came upon this scene of Longhorn cattle reposing in a field. It just surprised and delighted me. I felt somehow I had been transported to Texas! I loved the contrast of the setting (mountains in Utah) to the actuality of the subject.
14” x 11” — Pastel $1,120
PAT O’BRIEN • WAOW Associate • AZ • www.patobrienartist.com I received my BFA from the University of Cincinnati, DAAP program, majoring in painting and then received by MA from Miami University, Oxford, OH. Recently, I have been exploring new styles and techniques in oil painting. This has been a very challenging yet rewarding experience and has expended my artistic capabilities. The beauty is awe inspiring, from the rugged mountainous terrain, the breath taking sunsets and the beautiful color canyons; the southwest has much to offer.
