One morning there was a magical light illuminating the focused worker at a local bake shop. Truly, with her curls glowing and her cheeks rosy, the baker Jacqui, was elevated to the level of a heavenly pie maker.

I spotted these ranchers at the counter of the historic Montgomery Café in Ft. Worth just after they’d unloaded their livestock at the Will Rogers Center. Not your weekend cowboys, but the real thing with real mud on their jeans and hot coffee in their mugs.
