BURNETA VENOSDEL , a national award-winning bronze sculptor and pastel artist, is past president of WAOW, a signature member of American Plains Artists, Signature of American Women Artists and member of Ozark Pastel Society, Arkansas Pastel Society, and Oklahoma Pastel Society. She was a Western Art Academy Scholarship Program (Houston Livestock and Rodeo Art Scholarship Program) Instructor at Schreiner University, Kerrville, Texas. Research at the George Miksch Sutton Avian Center, Bartlesville was the culmination of study for Tallgrass Warriors , inspired by my husband’s first cousin, whose ranch, near Dexter Kansas, was the central scientific gathering place for the capture and re-introduction of the Lesser Prairie Chickens back to Colorado by the Department of Wildlife.
