ANNE SPOON WOOLAROC TREASURE
20” x 20” — Oil $2,500
I was first drawn to this jar on display at Woolaroc Museum in Bartlesville Oklahoma. The way the light struck it from above made it glow, and I knew I just had to recreate it in paint.
ANNE SPOON • WAOW Associate • OK • www.annespoon.com Anne Spoon was born in the Bronx, New York, grew up in the Hudson River Valley, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from The School of Visual Arts, NYC. She spent the past three decades painting people, places and objects that have a quiet beauty, perhaps seemingly simple, and often overlooked until painted. Anne wants those who view her paintings to see the world through the eyes of an artist and experience autumn leaves in a swirling dervish, minnows just beneath the surface of a clear creek, or a bottle stained with a kaleidoscope of age. These are the subjects that speak to her heart, and through her artwork, the viewer’s.
